Frome FM’s Magpies Folk Cafe is proud to present.... An evening with John Buckley McQuaid. One of the finest songwriters and troubadours of our time, John will be performing at the Bennett Centre in Frome, for one night only to celebrate the release of his new album “Be Yourself”. A master in crafting powerful, stylish, beautiful and at times hilarious songs that challenge and entertain, John performs with ‘enthusiasm, presence and a magical ability to make elegance look easy’ (Jyllands Posten, Denmark). Originally from Dublin, Ireland, John has shared his music with audiences across Europe, and has sought inspiration for over five decades from cities such as Paris, New York and Tokyo to name but a few. John has lived in Denmark since 1973 and writes daily in the backroom of a quiet café in the town where he lives. A master of all forms of creativity, whether it be song, fairy tale, painting, photography or video, he has something to say that is ‘relevant, varied and different and definitely worth spending a concert evening on.’ (Land of Folk, Denmark).
